The OC Foodie Munch Returns! 4/8/15

ContentsRSVP ONLYThe BasicsThe RulesSample Menu – Subject to change closer to the eventHey there E/everyone, It’s been about a year since I shut the OC Foodie Munch down for personal reasons. I appreciate your understanding in this matter. I was exhausted and disheartened, and frankly needed a break both emotionally and financially. In April I will be running a reunion on what would’ve been our four year anniversary if we had run continually. The event will be at Brü Grill and Market in Lake Forest, which was our most popular location ever. RSVP ONLY http://www.ocfoodiemunch.com/april2015-munch-rsvp/ The Basics Brü Grill and Market 23730 El Toro Rd, Lake Forest, CA 92630 7PM-10PM The Rules The munch is courteous and abides by a few basic...

Maravelous Marrakesh and a Free Belly Dancer

ContentsRSVP OnlyFinding the RestaurantAbout the RestaurantMenuCocktail Menu ($8)RSVP Only RSVP here: http://www.ocfoodiemunch.com/july-munch-rsvp/ Finding the Restaurant So I couldn’t help, but notice this all tatted out to heaven, split-tongued guy walking around my complex. I say hello one day and we get to talking. Turns out he’s a chef, and a 15 minute conversation about avocado oil ensues. I said, I’m always looking for restaurants for this huge group I run. He said: Marrakesh. This name sounded familiar. I’m relatively sure my parents used to get lunch from this place and take it to the beach ages ago when it used to be on PCH, but they’ve moved now. So I call up BottomQuark (my now official OC Foodie Munch taste tester) and we...

It’s always been a place where I’ve been made to feel welcome, even though it’s trendy. It’s quiet, even when it’s busy. The staff makes you feel amazing. The service is generally bordering on flawless, and then there’s the food. It’s hard to go wrong when you have the...

Chic Cocktails and Exotic Vietnamese Food for May

ContentsRSVP onlyMenuAppetizersEntreesRSVP only RSVP at: http://www.ocfoodiemunch.com/munch-rsvp/ Originally suggested by my cohostess Raining Sprinkles. BottomQuark was the first one to take me to this fabulous place some six months ago called Brodard Chateau. I was instantly in love. This upscale Vietnamese restaurant has a private upstairs room for us, a full bar with fabulous fusion drinks like leechee martinis, and an extensive menu. Everything I’ve tried there so far, from the seafood claypot, to the lemongrass beef vermicelli has been incredible. At the time I was initially introduced to this place though we had done a lot of Asian food: Chinese, Dim Sum, Korean BBQ, Thai, and I was already getting complaints about how much. I love Asian food, but I...

Fall in Love with Salvadorian Food – Weds 2/13

Izalco 300 West Fifth Street Santa Ana, CA 92701 The credit for this find goes to my Co Hostess RainingSprinkles, who found this amazing place when she was poking around Yelp. This is a great event for everyone to come out. There’s a huge variety of food and the most expensive thing on the menu is $16. Most of the menu is priced well below that. So what is Salvadorian food? It’s kind of like Mexican Food, but a thousand times better. Some things like: Tacos, Tamales, and Flan, will probably look pretty darned...
